Simon Wickstead was born in Kingston-Upon-Thames, England in 1967.

After graduating from art school in 1986, Simon became a designer and illustrator, working first as a freelancer and then later for a multi-national engineering company.

In the early nineties Simon made a career move to the rapidly developing new media sector as a web designer and was offered a key position with a City of London bank designing and implementing intranet and internet solutions.

Simon studied photography and photojournalism at the London College of Printing where he graduated with a Distinction. Since then he has worked for national and international magazines as well as corporate and business-to-business clients.

Since 2002 Simon has been based in Munich, Germany where his business continues to thrive. In July 2004 Simon married Uschi Liebl. They live together in a small house with Bonnie the dog and Mao the cat.
